"If you are afraid to lose, you'll never win..."

Everyone and their Dog seems to have a bloody website these days, and most of them really blow. Here's a few that don't, and a few that do. I'll leave you to make your mind up as to which is which.

The 'Nice Guy of Poker', Daniel Negreanu is one of the top tournament poker players in the World. 2004 saw his best ever year at the WSOP, where he won a bracelet and bagged ITM finishes in no less than 5 events. Winner of the Borgata Poker Open and the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, Daniel was also crowned Cardplayer Player of the Year in 2004 for his impressively consistent results. Since his first appearance in the WSOP in 1998 (when he won a bracelet in PL Holdem (making him, at 23, the youngest ever WSOP event champion) he has had more tournament wins than any other professional on the circuit. Full Contact Poker is his personal site, containing all  his articles from Cardplayer, his photo galleries and his personal poker journal.

Dubbed by many as 'The Robin Hood of Poker' Barry Greenstein is unique in the world of professional poker in that he gives every single dollar of his tournament poker profits to a variety of charitable institutions, in particular Children, Inc., which works to help children across 21 countries including the USA. Despite being more or less unheard of by the broader poker-viewing public (at least until he won The 2004 World Poker Open), to those on the circuit Barry is one of the most respected players in poker today, and is a regular face in 'The Big Game'.

Howard Lederer is one of the most highly regarded and consistent professional poker players in the world today, and he competes in cash games at the highest level and features in all the major buy-in tournaments. Hailing originally from New Hampshire, where his father was an English teacher, he was raised in an academic family which no doubt goes some way to explaining his reasoned approach to the game and his calm, unruffled demeanor at the poker table. These, and his ability to clearly explain complex poker tactics in his series of instructional poker DVDS have earned him the nickname “The Professor of Poker.”

Annie Duke isn't just one of the most succesful females in poker, she's one of the world’s best professional players, period. She beat Phil Hellmuth and eight other poker legends to win $2 million in the ESPN 'Tournament of Champions' and won her first WSOP gold bracelet in 2004 (in Omaha8 no less - game of the future!). She’s been playing poker seriously since 1992 when her brother Howard Lederer gave her some lessons in how to play, and since then has won no less than three big buy-in events. The mother of four, ages three through ten, and she also has a book coming out!

Ah, good old Phil.

A really interesting and thankfully quite short bio on this particular pro will be forthcoming very soon. I have writer's block, and don't like plagiarism, so check back soon for something witty, insightful and original on this particular 'big noise' on the poker scene very soon. Actually make that a couple of weeks, OK?
